Meet the Portsmouth team

In Portsmouth our teams are based around the city. Clinicians come from a range of backgrounds and see all sorts of children and young people dealing with different issues.

Alex Millham

Family Therapist

Alex Millham

Hi I'm Alex, I am a family therapist working in the MST team and CAMHS teams at Falcon House and Battenburg Avenue. I like working with families to look at ways that they can help each other. I have recently done lots of work with parents about managing problems like anxiety, anorexia and aggression.

Anna Walker

Specialist Nurse

Anna Walker

Hi, my name is Anna.

Bonnie Hanley

Community Therapist

Bonnie Hanley

Hi, my name's Bonnie and I'm a Community Therapist in CAMHS. I qualified as an Occupational Therapist in 2008. I have been working in CAMHS for a year or so now and I absolutely love it! I meet lots of different young people and their families every day and help them to find ways of looking after their mental health, so that they can get on with the things that are important to them in life. Some people have low mood, anxiety, they might be self harming or have distressing thoughts... all sorts! Everyone in the team is very friendly and we look forward to meeting you! :)

Cliff Free

Art Psychotherapist

Cliff Free

Hi I'm Cliff. My specialist training is in Art Psychotherapy which I've been doing for over 15 years. I love working creatively helping young people find ways of expressing and understanding the difficulties they are experiencing and have a particular interest in Self Harm and Eating Disorders. One of my other passions is working in the Family Therapy Team which I've done for many years. I am also trained in CBT, NVR and PTSD treatments - as part of being a generic clinician like my team members - and always looking for most effective ways to flexibly combine different skills

Deborah Burness

Behaviour Support Worker

Deborah Burness

Hello, my name is Deborah and I work with the Learning Disability Team. I may see you if you go to a special school in Portsmouth and need help with how you feel or are behaving. I sometimes bring things with me for us to do together and can make you special books to help you feel calm. I like to visit you wherever you prefer, but mostly I visit young people at home.

Emily Picton

Mental Health Practitioner

Emily Picton

Hello, my name is Emily. I am a Mental Health Practitioner and am based at Falcon House. I have been working in the CAMHS team since October 2009. I work with young people between 5-18 years of age, both individually and with families. I provide help for lots of mental health problems, for example worries, low mood and self harm and I really enjoy my job. When I meet with you I will make sure that I listen to you and do all I can to help make things better for you.

Erica Goddard

Advanced Nurse Practitioner

Erica Goddard

Hello, I'm Erica. I'm a Learning Disabilities Nurse and I work with children and young people who have learning disabilities and additional needs, such as feeling sad, worried or feeling angry. Sometimes the children I work with behave in ways that can hurt other people or themselves. I work with my colleagues to try to understand what is wrong and then we work with families, teachers and other professionals to help children to communicate their needs and to feel better. I can see children at home, or school, or anywhere that is best for the child and family.

Jade Simango

Clinical Team Leader

Jade Simango

Hello, my name is Jade. I am the Clinical Team Leader for CAMHS Single Point of Access team at Falcon House. I have been working in mental health for over 12 years now but have always wanted to specifically work with children and young people. I have been with the CAMHS team since April 2012 and thoroughly enjoy my job. I get to work with lots of young people aged 5 - 18 and their families who may be experiencing some difficulties with worries, low mood, self harm and other mental health issues. I manage a team I am very proud of who you might speak to on the phone after we receive your referral and will meet with you at your first appointment at CAMHS. We look forward to meeting you!

Jonathan Prosser

Consultant Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist

Jonathan Prosser

Hi, I'm Jonathan and I'm one of the psychiatrists in the team. In our team we all use different skills to help each other meet the needs of young people and families that use our service. As a psychiatrist I have particular experience of prescribing for young people, recognising and managing serious mental illnesses, helping to understand complex problems that others have found hard to explain, and making decisions about safety and managing risk when this is needed. As a team member, I have a particular passion for conversations with young people and their families about their hopes for the future, how they can realise those hopes, bit by bit, and what skills, qualities and resources are available to young people and families to help with this.

Kate Olliver-Kneafsey

Senior Mental Health Practitioner

Kate Olliver-Kneafsey

Hi I'm Kate, I am a Senior Mental Health Practitioner in the CAMHS Single Point of Access (SPA) team. I assess and treat children, young people and their families for mild to moderate mental health difficulties. I offer treatment which includes family therapy, solution focused therapy and psycho-education sessions. I usually see young people in the clinic but can sometimes see families in their home or children in school or in other community settings. I also attend meetings to offer mental health consultation to parents and other professionals, if it’s not really clear what the difficulties are and am happy to answer any questions at these meetings.
