How we can help
Everyone is different, and so there are different ways that we can offer to help you. It might take a while to find the right fit, but CAMHS is there to help you on your way. As part of the NHS, we have to follow a set of rules when it comes to your care, these are called NICE Guidelines. They are there to help us provide the best care for you based on evidence of what has been proven to work. When you meet your CAMHS clinician, you will talk about what is recommended but also what is the best way forward for you.
When you come to CAMHS you will probably be asked to complete some short forms called Outcome Measures. These help us to spot where it is you are having problems and where you are doing well so that we can focus the work. It also helps us to track your progress throughout the treatment. The information on these forms will always be anonymous and you can ask to see them anytime.
